Description
This autumn pear crumble recipe makes a delicious dessert and helps to include fruit in your family's diet.
Ingredients
pears (medium size, peeled and sliced)
3 tablespoons
brown sugar
2 tablespoons
flour (all purpose)
1 pinch
cinnamon (ground)
1 tablespoon
butter (cold) Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350º Fahrenheit.
- Arrange pear slices in a greased 1 quart oven-proof dish. Drizzle with lemon juice.
- Combine oats, flour, cinnamon, ginger and sugar in a mixing bowl. Cut in the cold butter with a knife until the mixture is crumbly. Then add the almonds. Sprinkle the flour/oat mixture over the pears and bake in the oven for about 30 minutes or until hot and slightly golden.
- Serve immediately with vanilla yogurt or vanilla ice-cream.
Notes
You can mix some chopped almonds or walnuts with the crumble mixture, or sprinkle slivered almonds on top before getting the crumble to the oven; almonds will toast nicely then.
