Caramel frosting

Description

This recipe should yield enough frosting for a 9 inch cake.

Ingredients

1⁄4 cup
cream (sweet cream or half & half)
1 tablespoon
butter
6 tablespoons
brown sugar
1⁄4 teaspoon
salt
2 cups
confectioners' sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix cream, butter, brown sugar and salt and place over low heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Do not let boil!
  2. Remove from heat. Stir in confectioners' sugar and vanilla. Stir until cool enough to spread.
