Chicken fingers

Description

Homemade chicken fingers are healthy option for toddlers and onwards. Serve chicken fingers from the late independence stage. They are great for family meals.

Ingredients

4  
chicken breast (skinless and cut into 1-inch x 3-inch strips)
1⁄3 cup
corn flakes (crushed)
1⁄2 cup
pecan (chop pecan nuts finely)
1⁄8 teaspoon
garlic powder
2 tablespoons
milk
1⁄2 teaspoon
salt (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400° Fahrenheit.
  2. Combine cornflakes, pecans, garlic powder and salt on a shallow plate.
  3. Place milk into a little dish. Dip the chicken strips into the milk, then into the cornflake mixture.
  4. Arrange the breaded strips into a baking pan and bake in the oven for about 8 – 10 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink inside.

Notes

This chicken fingers are suitable for a gluten free diet - for instance, for those kids with celiac disease - as the corn flakes used for the coating are free from gluten. Corn and rice are the two cereals with no gluten.
