Hard sauce

Description

Hard sauce recipe to accompany Christmas pudding.

Ingredients

1⁄2 cup
butter
2 cups
confectioner's sugar (sifted)
1⁄8 teaspoon
salt
1 tablespoon
water (boiling water)
1 teaspoon
vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Cream butter.
  2. Add gradually confectioners' sugar, creaming until light and fluffy.
  3. Blend in salt, boiling water, and vanilla extract.
  4. Chill until serving time.

Notes

Blend 2 teaspoons rum or French's Brandy into this hard sauce, if desired, to make rum or Brandy butter. For a kid friendly rum or Brandy butter, use rum or Brandy flavoring not the spirit.
