Description
Are you looking for a healthy party snack? Toffee apples have all the goodness of fruit with only a little sugar.
Ingredients
apples (sweet eating apples)
1 ounce
butter (about 1 tsp)
4 tablespoons
nuts (mixed nuts finely chopped) Instructions
- Place the sugar and the water in a pan over low heat and heat until the sugar is dissolved. Stir in the butter and maple syrup and bring to a boil.
- Boil until the mixture becomes syrupy and thick. Remove the pan from the heat and add the nuts. Mix gently.
- Pierce the apples halfway through with the wooden skewers at the stalk end. Dip each apple carefully into the toffee until well coated.
- Place onto a lined baking tray until the toffee has hardened.
Notes
Try rolling the apples onto colorful sprinklers to make candy apples.
Toddlers may find difficult to munch toffee apples.
