Pureed vegetable recipes for kids

I'd like to have some new pureed vegetable recipes for kids. I have a baby and find I am doing the same all the time. (Erika)

For first tastes, try one vegetable at a time. This way it is easy to know if something upsets your baby.

Potato is very easy to digest and suitable to be one of the first to try. Get on medium potato, peel, dice and simmer in boiling water until tender - about 15-20 minutes, depending on the size. Then mash finely and add a little of baby milk or water if the puree is too thick.

For older babies, you can bake at 400°F or 200°C for 45 minutes or scrub clan, remove blemishes and boil in its skin for 25-30 minutes - the taste is not so good - and then remove skin and mash.

Carrot is also very suitable. Get a medium carrot, peel, and slice. You can just scrub well, but the skin has a slightly bitter taste. Cover and simmer in a little water for 10-15 minutes or until soft and cooked. Drain, reserving liquid, and puree with a baby mill or mash with a fork - add cooking liquid to thin the mash if necessary.

Make then a carrot and potato puree, simmering some diced potato and sliced carrot. Puree with a hand blender or mash with a fork. You can add a little olive oil for flavor - you could add the oil to the simmering vegetables.

When your baby is happily eating carrot and potato, add 4-6 pods French beans - wash, top and tail, and remove strings. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, and puree all vegetables with a hand blender. Add a little olive oil, if you wish.

Next, add some cut up onion to the potato, carrot, and French beans. Simmer for about 20 minutes, until all vegetables are cooked. Puree with a hand blender and add olive oil for flavor.

You can prepare this last version in larger quantities for the whole family. Salt is not recommended for babies, so ass salt and pepper once you have removed some pure for baby - you could even freeze some baby portion for other day, although freshly made puree tastes much better. Add some light cream to the family portion, if you wish.
