Alfredo bacon and pasta

This is a pasta recipe that will last a lifetime. And the kids will remember the good times thye had learning how to prepare it.

Ingredients

3 c pasta (uncooked, your favorite type of dry pasta, long or short)
2 c broccoli (frozen broccoli florets)
1 c sauce (Alfredo sauce)
1⁄2 c bacon (diced bacon, pancetta or lardons, already cooked)
4 T cheese (optional, grated Parmesan cheese)

Instructions

Fill a saucepan half full of water, place over medium high heat and bring the water to a boil.

Carefully stir the pasta into the boiling water.

Cook the pasta for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Stir in the borccoli and bring the water back to a boil.

Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Drain the pasta and broccoli well.

Return the pasta and broccoli  back to the saucepan and place over low heat.

Stir in the Alfredo sauce and bacon pieces.

Cook, stirring often, for 5 minutes or until completely heated through.

Serve warm topped with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Being in the kitchen can be a lot of fun for not only the children but their adult helpers as well. 

Be sure to teach your children kitchen safety. Remind them of hot water, sharp knives and hot cooking surfaces. Teaching them safety in the kitchen also teaches them good habits that will last a lifetime.

Variations

Substitute broccoli with the same amount of other vegetables like frozen peas.
