Kids will love this delicious beef and broccoli stir-fry. The flavorful sweet-salty sauce helps make this veggie-packed dish full of flavor, while still being easy to enjoy. Perfect for busy weeknights, you'll have your family asking for seconds.

Ingredients

12 oz beef (1 steak, boneless, cut into strips or thin slices)
2 c broccoli (broccoli cut into florets)
1 c onion (red onion, sliced)
1 c carrot (sliced carrot)
4 T sauce (soy sauce)
1 T corn starch (level)
2 T sauce (hoisin sauce)
2 T cooking oil (vegetable oil)
1⁄2 c water
2 T cooking oil (dark sesame oil)
1⁄2 c green onion (thinly sliced)

Instructions

Mix the soy sauce, hoisin sauce and cornstarch in a bowl. Add the meat and stir so that it is well coated.

Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or deep frying pan. Add the meat, reserving the marinade, and brown on all sides, about 2 minutes. Transfer the meat to a plate and set it aside.

Add to the same wok, or pan, the broccoli, onion, carrot, water and sesame oil. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the broccoli is tender but still somewhat crisp, 4-5 minutes.

Pour the marinade liquid in and bring it to a boil. Let it simmerl 1-2 minutes before putting the meat back into the pan. Let the meat heat through, 1-2 minutes and sprinkle the sliced spring onion on top before serving.
