Chicken nuggets (oven)

Who doesn't love a good old fashioned chicken nugget? They're just so delicious that everyone wants more than one bite.

Ingredients

1 1⁄2 lb chicken (thigh fillets or breast fillets, cute into 1 inch pieces)
  flour (all purpose flour)
1 egg (beaten lightly)
1 T milk
1⁄4 c cheese (finely grated Parmesan or Cheddar cheese)
2⁄3 c cereal (crumbled corn flakes)
1⁄2 t salt (or to taste)

Instructions

Place beaten egg and milk in one bowl. Combine cheese, corn flake crumbs and salt in another bowl.

Coat the chicken pieces in flour, shaking off any excess. Then coat with cheese and crumbs mixture before setting aside until ready to cook all of them together.

Heat the oven to 160-180º F.

Place the chciken nuggets, in a single layer on their wire rack over an oven tray so that they can be cooked evenly from all sides.

Bake the nuggets until browned lightly and cooked through, about 30 minutes.

Serve warm.

Notes

Serve chicken nuggets with tomato ketchup, barbecue sauce or any other sauce you like.

These homemade, juicy and tender treats will make your day even better. You can enjoy them as part of an easy dinner or at any party you are hosting.

This recipe could omit the flour and use only crumbled corn flakes as a coating, which will give the nuggets nearly the same delicious crunch and make them gluten free.

Variations

For more flavor with no more salt, substitute 1/2 teaspoon of salt with 1 teasponn chicken stock powder.
