Cream butter.
Gradually add sugar, creaming until light and fluffy.
Blend in the egg yolk, flour and vanilla extract.
Gradually add boiling water.
Cook in top of double boiler over boiling water, stirring constantly until slightly thickened. Stir in nutmeg.
