Classic whole wheat pancakes

A perfect blend of whole wheat's nutty taste, sweet honey, and a touch of vanilla. These fluffy, hearty pancakes make a nutritious and tasty breakfast. Top with fresh fruit or Greek yogurt for an energizing meal. This simple recipe ensures perfect whole wheat pancakes every time. 

Ingredients

1 c flour (whole wheat flour)
1 1⁄2 t baking powder
2 pn salt
1 egg
1 c milk (whole milk)
2 T butter (already melted, unsalted butter)
1 T honey

Instructions

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In another bowl, beat the egg and mix in the milk, melted oil or butter, honey, and vanilla extract.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease with oil or butter.

Pour 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake and cook until bubbles form on the surface. Flip and cook until golden brown.

Notes

Substitute milk with almond milk and melted butter with melted coconut oil for a vegetarian or vegan version.

Substitute hone with maple syrup if you wish.
