Hot dog burrito

Use turkey hot dogs because they have virtually no cholesterol and that makes them easier on kids.

Ingredients

1 sausage (turkey Frankfurter)
1 tortilla (flour tortilla, small)
1 salsa (your favorite Mexican sauce)
1 T cheese (Monterrey Jack, shredded)

Instructions

Spread salsa on the tortilla and sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Place the sausage in center of tortilla and wrap to close ends. Place on microwave-safe dish and cover with wax paper.

Microwave at high (100% power, or 800 to 1000 watts) for 40-50 seconds.

Notes

Very young kids can help to prepare hot dog burritos as there is no knife work involved. Those old enough to use the microwave oven, can make their own lunch in a flash.

You can cook a batch of hot dog burritos by placing 8 to 10 on a microwave safe pan, cover the pan with wax paper and microwave at high for 4-5 minutes.
