Avocado on toast

Avocado on toast is a great choice as a healthy meal or snack for the whole famiy because it’s loaded with nutrients and healthy fats that support overall wellness. Also, it is something most kids can make on their own.

Ingredients

1 avocado (ripe)
2 slices bread
  lemon (lemon juice to taste)
  seasoning (salt and pepper to taste)

Instructions

Toast your bread to your desired level of crispiness. 

While the bread is toasting, cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh into a bowl. 

Mash the avocado with a fork until it's as smooth or chunky as you like it. Add a squeeze of lemon juice, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well. 

Spread the mashed avocado evenly onto your toasted bread. Enjoy!

  • Toast with cream cheese, sliced avocado, and red chili flakes sprinkled on top.

Notes

Smashed avocado is easier for kids to make on their own, but you could also slice the avocado.

You can add any aditional toppings of your chocie, like seeds, feta cheese, egg (poached, hard boiled or scrambled) and other seasonings.
